Road Racing Championships 2011

We now have confirmation of the final standings in the 2011 Kent Grand Prix. As expected, the Men’s team gained a place with the last race at Deal, to move ahead of Cambridge Harrier by just two points, and so finish 7^th. The Ladies’ team jumped up two spots, to move four points clear of Invicta East Kent and round off the season in 12^th place. Tunbridge Wells Harriers claimed the men’s title, while the ladies’ went to Maidstone Harriers.

As for the individual performances, Steve Suttle was top for Thanet, claiming an excellent 2^nd place in the men’s v50, and 15^th overall. Steve King was 22^nd overall, and 13^th in the v40, while Bill Wright finished 12^th in the v60. For the ladies, Debbie Hatt led the way, coming 30^th overall and 39^th in the v35. Barbara Gambrill was the only lady to place in either of the two other categories, placing 19^th in the v55. The full results are in the link above.

Very well done to everyone who took part at some point thoughout the year. It was great  to see 27 male and 7 female TRAC runners picking up points, and although there are others who didn’t manage to score, there was a real sense of team spirit, so let’s try and build on that for the 2012 series. Furthermore, next year the Grand Prix races will form the basis of the club championship, so we can guarantee you some points for that even if the more challenging GP points prove more elusive!

The Club Championship winners were announced at the presentation evening on 2^nd February 2012 - full details of all awards presented are now available.

KENT ROAD RACES – GRAND PRIX AND CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011

 Please note As the Thanet 20 was cancelled for 2011, there was no 20 mile Championship.                                             

KENT GRAND PRIX

Open to members of Kent Clubs who have registered at the beginning of the year.  Individuals who are not members of Kent Clubs may also enter.   Points accumulated at each race meeting for top 6 men (down to position 100) and top 4 women  (down to position 50) in each club. Team championship based on best 10 scores in all 11 races.  Individual Championships in categories M, M40, M50, M60, F, F35, F45, F55 based on best 6 of 11 races.

KENT CHAMPIONSHIPS

Open to all Kent runners who qualify either by birth or by continuous residence for 9 months or more.   Enter on official form.  Entries on the day do not count in the Championships.  Awards presented for first 3 in each category – M, M40, M50, M60, F, F35, F45, F55, Male team and Female team (3 to score)

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

Individual Championships in categories senior M, M40, M50, M60, senior F, F35, F45, F55, with prizes for the top three.
