Folkestone 10 mile 2016 (25th Mar 2016)

Start time: 11.00

Host: Folkestone RC

Well done to the 21 TRACcies who earned their hot cross buns and Easter Eggs at yesterday’s Folkestone 10 mile. Another good turn out for the club although numbers were a little down on previous years. It was a glorious sunny spring morning with a breeze that kept the temperature down but not quite enough to slow you up. Simon Arter was first Traccie home of the 641 finishers (sorry Andy!) in a new personal best of 64.39, ahead of Andy Stevens in 66.51 good enough. Dave Winch was 2nd v60 with 69.17, and I suspect claimed the v70 Kent Champs title. Becky Williams was first of the girls home in 77.14, a few seconds ahead of Maria Skinner in 77.22 on her first race for the club. Sara Sutton had another great run, continuing to get faster as she was third in 77.39. Joanne Jeffreys had a stunning run to knock at least 13mins off her PB, while Adrian Neaves completed his first race ever in 1:34:39. Full TRAC results below:-

Grand Prix to follow, but I’ve revised the club champs standings. Assuning no other runners come to light, Steve Suttle has taken over at the top of the men’s table ahead of Peter Heath, as the only runners to have completed all four races to date, with Owen on the same points as Pete at this stage. And Becky Williams increased her lead with a third win from her three appearances. But plenty of time for everyone to get involved - with six races left, even if you haven’t scored yet, you can still rack the points.

A short break now until the Staplehurst 10k on 5th June, with the North Downs 30k Run shortly after on 26th.
