Kent Fitness League 2011-12
The 2011-12 Kent Fitness League finished with Thanet Roadrunners Men’s Team finished in their highest place in the league this season to finish in 16th place. Likewise, Thanet Roadrunners AC Ladies’ Team finished the season in their highest place in 14th spot. The Combined Team finished in 15th place.

Kent Fitness League 2011-12 - Sevenoaks (23rd Oct 2011)

Again, thanks to John Cooper for this report from Sunday’s opening fixture of the 2011-12 Kent Fitness Cross Country League season, which was held in the grounds of Knole Park, Sevenoaks. Despite it being a warm and sunny day there was a large field of 385 athletes from 18 clubs taking part in the senior race over a 5.7 mile testing undulating scenic course which was very firm underfoot due to the recent dry weather.
Thanet Roadrunners AC fielded 12 runners on the day with Noel Sutton finishing in a brilliant 3rd Place. Gary Gillatt and John Cooper both travelled to Knole Park despite both completing the Beachy Head Marathon the day before. It was disappointing that despite fielding 12 runners Thanet Roadrunners AC were unable to field a combined team due to the lack of lady runners on the day, with the ever-present Gaynor Shelvey being the only Thanet lady to turn out and represent the club. After the first event the men’s team are in 12th Place, the ladies’ team in 18th place and the combined team back in 14th place.
Some of the club's Juniors also ran, but we'll have details of their performance later in the week.
Come on ladies – we only need three to make a team, so please all make an effort for the next round at Swanley on 13th November.
