Rye Triathlon 2012 (3rd Jun 2012)
Location: Winchelsea Beach, East Sussex
I enclose some information about the inaugural RYE TRIATHLON on Sunday 3rd June 2012, and would be very grateful if you could circulate this information to any THANET runners who might be interested in taking part. The race website is www.ryetriathlon.co.uk
This exciting new event will be based at Winchelsea Beach, East Sussex and features a sea swim; a scenic but challenging cycle route; and finally a run held entirely within Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. We are hoping to tie the event in with the local Diamond Jubilee celebrations. There will be both a Sprint and an Olympic distance event; the Olympic event includes a team relay and there will be a prize for the first running club.
In addition for anyone who would like to take part in the relay, but can't compile a team - race organisers are compiling a pool (no pun intended!) of individual swimmers, cyclists and runners, and will match you up with other competitors in your area to form a team. So if anyone fancies running the 10kms within the nature reserve, then all they have to do is to complete the Team Relay Individual Form and we will do the rest! Cost is £21.00, with a £2.50 discount for entries before 1.3.2012. All competitors receive a technical T-shirt and a race medal.
