Although the rain stayed away, with a lovely clear sunny winter’s morning, the stiff coastal breeze made for a challenging second half! Many congratulations to all today’s runners, and huge thanks to all our supporters – WW Martin, Sweatshop Bluewater, Tesco, Thanet District Council, Margate Ambulance, RAYNET, Thanet Constabulary – and to all our marshals and drink station attendants. Without this help, the race would not be able to go ahead, and we are also pleased to be able to make a donation to Thanet Galaxy Pan Disability Football Club.

We had 274 finishers - full provisional results are on this link, and all prize winners and team results are on the race page. Anthony Jackson of Sittingbourne Striders came out on top in a two way tussle with Andy McNeill of Long Eaton, winning in 57.09. James McNeill of South Kent Harriers was 3^rd four minutes back. Liz Weeks made it a double for Sittingbourne by claiming the ladies’ title in 61.37, five minutes clear of Larkfield’s Sarah Mooney, with Faye Roberts of Canterbury Harriers’ another two minutes behind in third. Maidstone Harriers went away with both the men’s and ladies’ team prizes.

Hope to see many of you again next year, if not at one of our other races!

We had a big showing from club members, even with many working behind the scenes. In all, 29 of us ran - Michaela Hill was first club member home, finishing an excellent 5^th lady, with Michael Philpot first TRAC man in 39^th overall. Well done to Michaela and Peter Gough who were having their first runs over this distance, and also to Becky Williams and Bill Wright who both set new personal bests. With so many runners, no doubt there were some others – let me know and I shall give you a shout!
