London Marathon videos 1981 to 2003/4
« on: March 28, 2012, 06:55:33 PM »
I religiously recorded the London Marathon off the BBC from 1981 until around 2004. I have copied the tapes I want to DVD and anyone who wants the originals can have them (for free).
Most consist of the Marathon brioadcast and the follow up programmmes, generally BBC2 in the evening and the afternoon sessions. For some Marathons there are 2, 3 or 4 hour tapes.
Any one interested contact me and they can collect.
John.

John -

I'd like to have these if no-one has got in there first.  I'm happy to make a donation to club funds.

Hi All,
I seem to have caused a bit of grief over the advertising of the tapes.
On the forum I said Steve could have first bite of the cherry. On the Saturday I reieved a call from Tim Bailey who asked did I still have the tapes. I was driving at the time and said Tim could collect them and I agreed. My problem was that I had the wrong name in mind when I received the call and subsequently Tim collected the tapes.
Later Steve phoned and I realised dthat I had made a classic senior moment and explained to Steve the tapes had been collected.
I realise I have made a boo boo and hope the matter can be resolved amicabjy.
John.

John -  I hope this has been an entertaining saga for everyone...

If it was Tim Bailey - No worries; they're in good hands!

Tim - If you read this, well done on selection for Ireland!  Fantastic to have a TRAC member flying as high as you do.  Is that Sittingbourne number yours?  If so, I'll give you a call sometime soon.

I'm sure we'll sort it out so we both get a copy -- I was going to copy them all onto DVD to "protect" them for the club anyway!
