Coastal Marathon in September
« on: May 30, 2012, 10:18:52 AM »
Before I stick my neck out can I ask for some advice. When I finished London I said that I was never going to run another Marathon as I felt it, and the training leading up to it, was too much for me. However, last year I was tail end Charlie for our Half Marathon and enjoyed the experience. If I do my regular training runs of about 100 miles a month but not doing anything further than about 10-13 miles at a time, should I be able to cope with being back marker for the Marathon which would probably mean finishing it in about 6h to 6h30?

I think that will be fine Bill as, being tail end Charlie, you will probably end up walking half of it in any case  :-\

You should be fine Bill - as long as the back runner for the marathon is at half way in 2 hours 50 minutes.  The time limit this year has been set at 6 hours for the full to avoid the ridiculous situation of last year of over 7 hours when the time limit had been 6 1/2!
