Juniors at Parliament Hill

Five junior members of Thanet Roadrunners AC turned out at the traditional London home of cross country running, Parliament Hill Fields, on Saturday 16th February 2013. The occasion was the SEAA Southern England Cross Country Championships, originally scheduled for 26th January.

Mud - and plenty of it - was the order of the day at the rearranged fixture, but that did not prevent the TRAC youngsters from turning in some fine performances. The U13s were particularly noteworthy, with both Emily Bond and Alex Kavanagh well to the fore in fields of more than 200 runners. The finishing positions and chip times of the TRAC runners were as follows:

U13 Girls 3000m

Emily Bond

21st

12:02

U13 Boys' 3000m

Alex Kavanagh

23rd

11:16

U15 Boys' 4500m

Oliver Cooper

153rd

18:37

U15 Boys' 4500m

Alfie Grafton

165th

19:07

U17 Men's 6000m

Bobby Harrop

24:48

Next up for a couple of these juniors is the National Championships in Sunderland on Saturday 23rd February 2013. Good luck to those making the long trek North!
