Juniors triumph in road relay series

Tuesday 10th July saw the final of 5 legs in the East Kent road relay series take place in Canterbury with many of the categories still with everything to play for.  However by the end of the evening it was clear that Thanet had once again succeeded against some much bigger clubs.  Biggest cheers of the evening were reserved for the junior team of Hughie Coleman, Alex Kavanagh, Billy Harrop and Caine Moir who again won their category making it a clean sweep in the series and crowning them overwhelming champions in their category.   They were ably backed up by the Vet 40 men's team on the night of Spencer Hoult, Steve Forshaw, Nigel Cook and Chris Brenchley whose 3rd place in the final race was enough fot 2nd overall in their category.  Previous legs had seen Adrian Waters and Steve Clarke also participate in this team.  Agonisingly both the senior teams finished 4th in their categories - particularly painful for the ladies who were just 2 points off 3rd place overall.

Many thanks to everyone who races over the series; the team captains for organising the teams and making sure the fastest runners were out there in the A teams each week battling for the club and everyone who helped out at the home Minnis Bay leg particularly Pauline and Slaps.
