Take Part in Thanet's Toughest Event, New Year Mountain Bike Duathlon

The next event in the Thanet Roadrunners AC calendar is The John Flitch Memorial Duathlon which will take place on January 12th 2014.  The race is an ideal event for athletes or mountain bikers looking to stretch their legs this winter. The race named after long-time Thanet Roadrunners member John Flitch and traditionally features very tricky conditions and the crossing of several deep water-filled dykes.

The off-road mountain bike duathlon consists of a 2.4 mile road run, followed by a nine mile mountain-biking cross-country ending with a 4.5 mile cross-country run.  The event kicks off at 10:30am in Birchington-on-Sea, Kent and is an ideal opportunity to blow out any New Year cobwebs.

Advanced entry costs £25, or £40 for a team of two and £45 for a team of three. For more information and to enter, please visit the Thanet Roadrunners AC website http://www.thanetroadrunners.org.uk.
