Club Championships

After the cancellation of the Maidstone half marathon, the club champs will now be based on the best 5 performances from the 9 races.  So  there is just one race to go – the Sittingbourne 10 mile on 4th October.

Going into that race, here are the updated club champs standings after last weekend’s Fosters Law Kent Coastal Marathon. Still a chance for many to make a name for themselves in the 2015 series!

Bradley Cameron has moved ahead to Owen Mitchell to the top of the tree and, although Owen can match Brad’s point total at Sittingbourne, Brad has the better head-to-head record. Steve Suttle currently sits in third spot overall, and has wrapped up the v50. John Hunt will finish with the senior men’s third place. Steve Forshaw is in pole position in the v40, but Shaun Mason and Chris Brenchley could take that, and pip Steve Suttle to overall bronze. Bill Wright will be v60 champ, but it’s wide open for second and third, with only one race for the other contenders.

No runners for the ladies last week, but Sarah Harmes will claim the title, and while Delphi Lever and Helen Spain sit second and third at present, plenty of others can make the frame. Three age group titles have gone, to Nanette Miles in the seniors, Sarah in the v35 and Gaynor Shelvey in the v55, while Helen and Delphi fight out the v45. But all to play for to grab a podium place!

The latest on the Grand Prix to follow....
