Fosters Law Kent Coastal Marathon and Half Marathon – final word

There are limited on the day entries for both of tomorrow's races. Anyone wishing to do so should arrive at race HQ soon after 7.30, to avoid disappointment. Please bring along a completed entry form and your £25 entry fee to race HQ at Palm Bay School, Cliftonville, CT9 3PP.

Pre-entered runners will need to collect their chip (and, if required, their championship number) from race HQ between 7.30 and 9.15 on race day - please check your number from the following list - ADVANCED ENTRANTS AT 30/8/15.

Please do not park in the school grounds - there is plenty of on-street parking near the school, but please be mindful of local residents. The race will start at 9.30 - give yourself plenty of time to make the start which is a short walk over the road from the school. Race results will be on the UK Sports Timing website (www.uksportstiming.co.uk/Results.html) shortly after the race.

Please note that although the senior/open individual Kent marathon championship is based on any marathon anywhere, these runners can still form part of the team champs on Sunday. Dave Behagg will accept entries before the race on the day into the Kent team champs from senior runners only. There is no individual Kent champs competition for seniors on Sunday, although their time will count towards the standings. Vets must have pre-entered the Kent champs. Please collect any relevant race identifiers for Kent Championships and the SCVAC championships on the day.

This year's official race charity is East Kent Rapeline (reg. charity. 1017581), a group that offers invaluable support to the survivors of rape and childhood sexual abuse across Thanet. For more details of the work they do, please visit their website (www.eastkentrapeline.com).

Please note that in line with BARR recommendations, headphones should not be worn during the race. Marshalls will be taking race numbers and action will be taken.

Don’t forget that we will also have a 'psyching team' from the University of Kent's School of Sport and Exercise Science, to help as things get tough around the course. This unique opportunity is the first of its kind in a UK marathon, and is normally available only to elite athletes. After the race, we’ll have a link to a survey for you to say what you thought of their support.

Jodi Hanagan will once again be our official race photographer on the day – give her a big smile as you wind your way along the Thanet coastline! Photos will be available to view and purchase from her website shortly after the race (www.jodihanaganphotography.com/p268463371). She is again offering a 30% discount for digital files for 24 hours, reducing the price per file from £5.50 to £3.85. All you have to do is like her facebook page (www.facebook.com/jodihphotography) - the code will be on her page and valid for 24 hours after the gallery goes live. If you’d rather have an actual photo, prints start at a very reasonable £5.75 for a 6x4 print.

Tim Smith of Relaxing Hands (www.relaxing-hands.co.uk) and Monique Wood of Health Solutions, Kent (www.healthsolutionskent.co.uk/) will be available to offer a 10 min pre-race massage for £5 to prepare your limbs, and a 15 min post-race rub-down for £10 to ease your aches.

Very many thanks to our race sponsors for their continued support to ensure Thanet Roadrunners continues to bring you Kent’s only road marathon race - Fosters Law, Fujifilm, Thanet District Council, High5 sports nutrition, Thanet Constabulary, RAYNET, Margate Ambulance services, local scout groups and all the marshals en route, as well as the University of Kent.

The weather looks good for Sunday, so all that’s left to say is have a great day!
