Sittingbourne 10 and Championship Update

Well done to the 13 TRACcies who ran last Sunday’s Sittingbourne 10 mile, the 9th race in this year’s Kent Grand Prix and the final club championship race. The conditions were great, with no wind and sunshine. 1st back for the club (and 24th position overall in the 357 field) was Owen Mitchell in 1:04:52. Just under a minute behind was Bradley Cameron in 1:05:48, and Shaun Mason was just 3 seconds behind Bradley. The 1st lady back was Becky Williams in 1:18:22, followed by Helen Spain in 1:24:14, with Nicola Boyes two minutes further behind

Note that KCAA have confirmed that the A20 Path ‘n’ Downs Half Marathon on 15th November will be the final race of the 2015 Grand Prix series, to replace the cancelled Maidstone Half. Please note that it will not however, count towards the club championships.

The Grand Prix Standings will follow, but congratulations to all those who took part in this year’s club championships. The winners will receive their trophies at the presentation night in the New Year. Full results on the link, but Bradley Cameron pipped Owen Mitchell by just a point, with Shaun Mason nicking third place overall in the final race, to add to his v40 title. With his run at Sittingbourne, Steve Clarke leapfrogged Peter Heath to second in the v50 behind Steve Suttle. Bill Wright stormed to the v60. Sarah Harmes wrapped up the ladies title earlier, but Helen Spain secured second overall to add to her v45 gold. Rebecca Williams crept into third overall at Sittingbourne, and Nicola Boyes claimed 2nd in the V45 only by her better head-to-head record against Delphi Lever. Nannette Miles and Gaynor Shelvey were unopposed in the ladies senior and v55 respectively.
