Road Race Season Returns

Following a brief hiatus for the spring marathon season, the road race championship series picks up again in June, with two races – the Staplehurst 10k on 5th June, the fast course making this a must for PB chasers, and the beautiful North Downs Run 30k on 26th June. Entries are open for both races, with details on the respective links.

Don’t forget that all club runners will score in the club championships wherever they finish. You could also gain points in the Kent Grand Prix, while the Staplehurst race also incorporates the Kent Championships. So plenty to play for!

The expectation is that club runners must be affiliated to English Athletics to call themselves a Thanet Roadrunner, although read Bill’s earlier message on the forum – you may be ok if you enter through Runner’s World. But if you are not included in the offical results as a TRACcie, please email me and Sarah at webmaster@thanetroadrunners.org.uk by the Friday following the race, with your name and finishing time. We will then include you in the club championships standings – any later, and I’m afraid you will have lost any potential points. We can’t do anything about the Grand Prix – we can make an exception for our members, but it’s too much to expect KCAA to do the same for 30-odd clubs!
