Fosters Law Kent Coastal Marathon and Half Marathon Results 2016

Many congratulations to all the runners in Sunday’s Fosters Law Kent Coastal Marathon and Half Marathon, and big thanks to all race organisers, marshals and of course our race sponsors for helping to ensure that Thanet Roadrunners continues to bring you Kent’s only road marathon race - Fosters Law, Fujifilm, Thanet District Council, High5 sports nutrition, RAYNET, Margate Ambulance Corps, local scout groups and all the marshals en route. Also a big thanks to Rich Rhythms for providing some brilliant drumming music (www.richrhythms.co.uk).

Please could all runners rate the race and leave and comments on Runners World – it helps us and also any prospective runners in the future.

A reminder that we will donate at least £1 from each entry fee to this year's charity, Margate Ambulance Corps (charity no 270595) who have been serving the local community since 1880.

Full provisional results from UK Sports Timing are on the links below – please let us know of any issues, by email to our entry coordinator, Terry Brightwell, at t.brightwell3450@outlook.com.

Despite the wind and the sun, all races had some cracking times, comfortably beating last year’s show. There were 340 finishers in the half marathon, with special congratulations to Colin Tricker of Paddock Wood, who crossed the lined first in 1.18.56, just ahead of Serpetine Runners' Martin Hodgkiss (1.19.26) and Simon Caddock (1.20.14). Sophie Tomaszczyk from West4 Harriers claimed ladies’ first place, in 1.30.14, who was well clear of Megan Inge from GGAC (1.35.00) and Arena 80 AC's Kerry Scott (1.35.15).

In the marathon, we had 137 finishers. Lee Rogers of Invicta East Kent claimed AC claimed top spot in a fantastic time of 2.55.58, ahead of Stephen Hobbs from Canterbury Harriers (2.58.17), and Riel Carol from Clapham Chasers (3.00.47).Catherine Simpson of Fulham RC was the first lady across the line witha time of 3.24.20 followed by Sarah Maguire from Canterbury Harriers with a time of 3.29.29 and Ruby Baker (3.47.28).

Official race photos are available to view and download from Jodi Hanagan’s website. In order to access them you will need to register (name and email address) and then search via your race number.

Hope to see many of you again next year, but don’t forget our next races – entries are open for the Alan Green Memorial 10 mile race on 4th December and will be open soon for the Mountain Bike Duathlon on 15th January.

Although a huge number of TRACcies helped behind the scenes, 22 club members turned out in their club vests – Matthew Collyer was top placed in the half in a very impressive 5th place in 1.24.16.  Paul Gualt (3:17:59.45) was first TRACcie back, pipping veteran Dave Winch. Full TRAC results below:
