Loch Ness Marathon

Seven TRACies flew to Scotland last month for the Loch Ness Marathon on Sunday 25th.

Whether it was something in the water or something in the haggis I don't know, but four of them came back with PB's.

Fellow Men's Captain Matt Jones lead the way with the PB's coming in first of the TRACies with Pete Gough, Steve Clarke and Oliver Northrop also achieving personal bests. Excellent effort guys!

The event sponsored by Baxters soup also includes a festival of running with 5k, 10k, team 10k and a 'Wee Nessie' for the under fives.

The marathon proves very popular with 2479 runners finishing this year. Over 2000 people also completed the 10k.

Matt informed me that the weather was perfect and the scenery spectacular. He described the course as very undulating but fortunately more down than up.

All the guys did a great job. Below are their positions and times.

224     Matt Jones         3:27:26

408     Brad Cameron    3:40:14

429     Pete Gough        3:41:11

646     Steve Clarke      3:51:57

883     Steve Forshaw   4:02:11

1127   Pete Heath         4:14:39

1263   Oliver Northrop   4:21:20

Well done all.
