Cross Country Report – Betteshanger Country Park and Minnis Bay Legs

Well done to the 17 Thanet Roadrunners who braved the wind up at Betteshanger on Sunday 7th January 2018. There were 343 runners in total. First home for the club was Joseph Scott 8th position in 31.05. Abigail Cardwell was home first for the ladies in 38.56. Welcome to Philip Roe on his debut for the club.

Minnis Bay – With the home advantage we had a strong team of 24 runners. There were 381 in total with Ian Lockyer backmarker.  A fantastic morning for cross country with it being cold but dry and lots of mud! The 5 dykes had plenty of water in them and the spectators seemed to be fully entertained.

Many thanks to Allison Hales as race director and the team setting out the course on Saturday ensuring the dykes were full. Also to Derek and his team for the first aid. Roz Tucker made full use of the ambulance with a calf strain mi

d-course and unfortunately had to be driven back to the start. And importantly to our marshals for cheering us on as always, we wouldn’t have been able to host this race without you.

The penultimate Cross Country is Sunday 28th January at Nurstead Court, Nurstead, Meopham.

Please let the captains know if you would like to car share.
