Hot in Halstead!

Six TRAC members headed up to north Essex for the Halstead marathon yesterday. The undulating course and hot and windy conditions made this a tough race, with only 4 of 606 finishers beating 3 hours.  However, Pete Johnson, running for the 100 Marathon club, clocked up another finish with his 3.28.  Sarah Harmes followed up her recent run at Brighton with another great time of 3.45 in a very different race, a little way ahead of Ed Heardman in 3.49, after running much of the race together before flagging towards the end. Club chairman Mark Foster was very pleased with his 4.15 ahead of a 24hr challenge next weekend, and Nigel Ross-Hunt was much happier with his latest effort of 4.25.  Not being 100%, Steve Clarke found the going too much and pulled out after 15miles. There are some more photos on the gallery – thanks to Sharon Foster for these, and also for on course refreshment!

Well done all!
