Kent Track and Field Championships - Day 2

Sunday 13th May 2012 saw TRAC Juniors in action once again on the second day of the KCAA Main Track & Field Championships.  On a warm afternoon at Ashford's Julie Rose Stadium, Imogen Bushell and Bobby Harrop both contested 800m races - Imogen recording a new Personal Best time and Bobby rounding off a busy weekend following his 400m exertions the previous day.

The Day 2 performances recorded by Thanet Roadrunners AC athletes were:

800m U15 Girls (heat):   Imogen Bushell 2:41.70

800m U17 Men (heat):   Bobby Harrop 2:22.55

Those two-lap races concluded a successful weekend for the club at the annual County Championships, with new Personal Best performances for all four of the U15 and U17 athletes competing.

Along with a number of other Junior members, they will line up once again at the same venue in the Kent Schools' Track & Field Championships on Saturday 16th June 2012.  This is an inter-district competition, with entries made by individual schools.  The closing date for entries is Thursday 17th May 2012 - so TRAC members in school years 7 to 11 should make sure their PE teacher has entered them in the early part of this week!

Before the schools' competition, the third of Invicta East Kent AC's summer open meetings takes place in Canterbury on Wednesday 6th June 2012.  For details of that and other competitive opportunities, please speak to the coaches at any TRAC training session.
