It ASDA to be said it was a great day!

Huge thanks to the 50 or so club members both junior and senior who turned up to promote us at ASDA Broadstairs today.

It was a great opportunity for us to speak to members of the public about running and fitness and the benefits of joining a club.  In particular it was really good for people to speak about their own experiences since joining Thanet Roadrunners AC and how the club caters for all abilities.  The timing, the day before the London Marathon was spot on as it is an event that a lot of people like to watch on TV and is probably what a lot of the public think about when thinking about running.

A lot of ladies expressed interest in the Monday night run/walk group as they are hoping to do Race for Life and were extremely impressed that we don’t charge people to run with us and that our membership subs are so cheap.

Kay Smith, ASDA Community Champion was really pleased to work with us and very impressed at the display of photos and the activities the juniors were doing and involving children out for a Saturday shopping trip.  ASDA are keen to work with us again in the future – the next event Kay is working on is to raise funds for Pilgrims Hospice and is on 26th May at 11.00pm when they are hoping to circle the store with people.  Participants will be asked to pay £2 and all money raised will go to the Hospice.

Today was a good example of how Thanet Roadrunners AC really contributes to life in Thanet in a positive way so thanks again to everyone involved. Click on the link below to see some more photos.
