Darent Valley 10k

There were twelve TRACcies amongst the field of just over 550 at this morning’s Darent Valley 10k. Although there was a rather stiff wind when setting off early from Thanet, conditions were perfect for the picturesque but undulating (!) course. For several of us, this was the last outing before next week’s London Marathon. Andy Stevens was first home, and inside the top 20. Stephen Forshaw set a new 10k personal best – no mean feat on this course! John Cooper made it 190 miles in 10 days, as he looks ahead to a second stab at the Grand Union Canal run later in the year. The three ladies all finished within a minute of each other.

We’ll have the effect on the Kent Grand Prix and Club Championships in due course, but by my reckoning, we have again a full complement of scoring men and all the ladies picked up points too.
