Juniors at National Biathlon Championships


Four junior members of Thanet Roadrunners AC (who also belong to Thanet Swim Club) were in Birmingham on Sunday 13th May 2012, competing at the British National Biathlon Championships, organised by Pentathlon GB.

Ben Pond was crowned individual National Champion in his age category, whilst Harry Bradford was one of the three Dane Court boys comprising the National Team Champions in the age group below.  Beth Williams finished eighth in the youngest category, whilst Lauren Joy broke six minutes for 1500m for the first time.

The full performances for the TRAC athletes taking part were as follows:





Beth Williams (8th, Youth E Girls) 

50m:     36.27s

500m:    1:47.38

Harry Bradford (10th, Youth C Boys) 

100m:   59.82s

1500m:  5:12.90

Lauren Joy (18th, Youth B Girls)  

200m: 2:15.54

1500m:  5:57.57

Ben Pond (1st, Youth B Boys)     

200m: 1:59.86

1500m:  4:37.72

Congratulations to all four athletes for achieving these excellent rankings in the National Championships, as well as to all the team at Thanet Swim Club.
