Sport Relief with Rob

8 TRACCies braved the wind and the rain to help Rob Smith from BBC South East News complete his Sport Relief triathlon challenge.  He had already swum 1km around  Brighton Pier and had cycled through the rain from Brighton to Ramsgate including a puncture outside Rye.  He arrived in Ramsgate at 4.30pm and after a change of clothes at the Royal Oak Hotel ran with us to the Turner Centre in Margate, all the time with a cameraman driving next to us.  Despite what he had already done during the day he managed to keep a 8:30 min / mile pace, much faster than we had been led to initially believe!

He was presented with a 30th anniversary club t-shirt and the club has donated £100 to his Sport Relief just giving site.  He was truly appreciative of our support and we in turn were very impressed with his fitness and pace.

Club Members Involved: Lee, Ed, Andy, Mark, Adrian, Helen S, Sharon and Donna.  Photos courtesy of Mike Laskey.
