KFL draws to a close....

The 2010-11 Kent Fitness League finished on Sunday with the longest trip of the season up to Oxleas Wood, Eltham. TRAC had four scoring runners, with Steve King leading the gang home in 41.13 for 95th spot, with Graham Pick (164th, 45.49), Mark Chapman (174th, 46.55) and Terry Brightwell (188th, 47.47) following. This result saw the male and female teams ending the season in 14th place.

However, Abdi Madar, running as a guest was first home in 31.18, despite being directed off the course by a marshal, and having to work his back to the front!

Well done for making the trip fellas, and special congrats to Steve and Graham who made every race in the series.

Still awaiting confirmation of the junior results, but we understand that Kealy Goldsmith won the girls under 13 event, and Alex Kavanagh tied for first in the boys under 13, although a number of the club’s juniors ran in these races. I’ll hopefully confirm these in due course.

Very well done to all those who took part in any of these over the last few months, braving wind, rain, snow, blizzards, mud and long trips – more than a few war wounds for your efforts!

Next up for team players is the summer road relay series, planned for Tuesday evenings starting in May – sure to be better weather for that – so stay tuned for further details.
