Thanet Secondary Schools' Cross Country

 

Wednesday 21^st March 2012 saw the Thanet Secondary Schools’ Cross Country Championships take place at Hartsdown Technical College.  Twenty TRAC Juniors were among the 272 youngsters taking part on a beautiful spring afternoon.  For most, the afternoon brought an end to their cross country season, whilst Caine Moir, Tom Winch and Emily Bond still have the Schools’ Inter-County fixture to come, at Bexhill, on Saturday 24^th March.

The information circulated to schools competing on Wednesday suggested that each lap of the course was approximately 1km.  On a flat surface, with firm ground underfoot, however, race times throughout the afternoon indicated that race distances were longer than suggested. 

There were numerous excellent performances from TRAC juniors, with a fantastic total of thirteen medals being won by club members!  Their finishing positions and race times were as follows:
