Fun on a Nee-Naw!

Members of Thanet Roadrunners Athletics Club together with Thanet firemen took part in a county wide event called ‘Chain Reaction’ on Saturday 25th June 2011.  ‘Chain reaction’ was the pinnacle part of the ‘Kent Event’, designed to provide opportunities for individuals, businesses and organization to get together and have fun.  ‘Chain Reaction’ was a series of simultaneous runs across Kent which linked most towns and villages (and even one in Tanzania).

To support this event, nine Thanet Roadrunners and firemen ran the 2¼ mile distance between Westwood Fire station and Ramsgate Fire Station, Rick Ryder and Andy Beaumont ran 10.2miles between Herne Bay and Westgate fire stations.

The Kent Event is an annual county wide event featuring a wide range of activities by, and for, the people and communities of Kent. The majority of events took place over the weekend of Friday 24th to Sunday 26th June 2011, although there are likely to be further activities after this. To find out more, go the website http://www.thekentevent.org/.
