Junior Action

 

 

There was a busy weekend of Track & Field action recently at Ashford’s Julie Rose Stadium, with many TRAC Juniors involved.

Emily Bond was first to compete – winning the U13 Girls’ 800m at the Kent Independent Schools’ Championships on Friday 15th June 2012, in an event record time of 2:33.14 ***. She also cleared 1m 29cm **** in winning the High Jump. Emily will now represent Wellesley House in both events at the National Prep Schools’ Championships, at which she won 800m Gold last year.

The following day, Saturday 16th June 2012, nine club members took part in the Kent Schools’ Championships. Representing Thanet School District, their performances were as follows:

Alex Wilmshurst of Thanet Swim Club, who trains regularly with TRAC, gained a Silver in the Jun Boys 1500m, with 4:49.6 in his heat and 4:40.4 **** in the final.

Alfie Grafton, meanwhile, competed after having done the Whitstable Parkrun earlier in the morning.
