Take part in Cross Country, its FREE for club members and a lot of fun!

Last year, I took part in my first cross country for over three decades.  The last time I had run this type of race was when I was at school.  I took part in the Swanley Park race which is one of the races that forms part of the Kent Fitness League, a series of cross country races taking place over the whole of Kent.

The event, held at Swanley Park, was very scenic with plenty of things to do for the children.  After a minutes silence at eleven o’clock for Remembrance Day, over 500 runners, including myself  ran the three challenging laps.  The course was muddy with enough challenges for both the seasoned as well as newbie runners.

Would I do it again…of course I will because:

•    It was lot of fun.
•    I shared the journey with two fellow roadrunners
•    It was great to run as part of a team
•    Got to see some great countryside
•    The race was free as the club pays our entry.
•    I also think that running Cross Country will form an important part of my winter training

The next Cross country is our home fixture at Minnis Bay this weekend.  If you are interested in taking part either turn up on the day or contact Steve Foreshaw (Men’s Team Captain) or Steve Clarke (Chairman)...and make sure you wear trail shoes…can get a bit slippery.
