Thanet Roadrunners AC at the Folkestone 10 mile Race 2014

Twelve Thanet Roadrunners took part in today’s Folkestone 10 mile race. In a field of almost 500 finishers, all our Thanet runners put in some splendid performances including a few personal bests.

Starting at 11.00 am, the 31st staging of one of Kent's most popular races, traditionally held on Good Friday took runners along the shore line from Hythe to Folkestone and back.

Owen Mitchell was the first Roadrunner home in just over the hour with club Vice Chairman. Steve Clarke missing out on a personal best by just a few seconds.

John Hunt, who achieved a personal best said, ‘Conditions were almost perfect.  It was a fast course and I noticed the leader was a good 2 minutes ahead of second place. As for my personal best, I was absolutely delighted to get my official time of 1:07:10.  I really didn’t think I had it in me!'
