Tessa Sanderson urged runners to sign up for the first ever Redbridge 10K Run.

May 24, 2011: Runners from all over UK are invited to take part in the first ever Redbridge 10K Run in London on 24th July 2011. Organised by The Tessa Sanderson Foundation and supported by the London Borough of Redbridge.

Competitors from as young as fifteen years old and above can take part in the 10km run which will set off at 5:00pm from the beautiful Fairlop Waters, Barkingside.

Prior to the run, The London Borough of Redbridge will be hosting Inspiration 2011, the annual festival celebrating the run up to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. With one year to go until the Games begin, this year's event will be bigger and better than before, inspiring families to get involved. Enjoy a spectacle of music, entertainment, many Olympic sporting activities and of course an array of food.

Run Route consists of Redbridge Cycling Centre which was built by the London Development Agency in 2008. It is an exciting leisure facility for cyclists, and includes all weather purpose built road and off road tracks to give you a great cycling experience in the ultimate car free environment.

Legendary Athlete and an Olympic champion Tessa Sanderson CBE, founder of TSFA, said: “All are welcome to come and join us at this event. It’s a time to get active and be inspired. Running is the most simple and effective form of keeping fit and healthy. All you need to do is come out and take part in the run along with thousands of runners to enjoy the thrilling of mass running.”

Every finisher will receive an exciting goodie bag, t-shirt, finishers’ medal, energy drink and water.

Top three finishers in each category will receive cash awards. Top three Running Clubs with maximum finishers will also receive special cash awards. Run will be timed by CHIP timing which will register accurate timing of every finishers.

Entry fee is £21.50 for Non-UKA affiliated runner and £19.50 for UKA affiliated runners.
