I was very sad to hear of his passing. Although I did not know him well, I respected him for being a good club man. When he was in good health (and often when he wasn't), he was a guaranteed marshall and helper at events.

He was also a good offerer of lifts to races and was always interested in club members' times and performances. I can often remember him complimenting me when I wasn't expecting it - both for times and for the newsletter last year.

With him and Alan Green passing, we have lost two good club men this year.

I can only echo Lee's sentiments.  I remember running with Robert on one of my first runs when we joined TRAC and he was very kind and supportive.
