Chilham duathlon

While still struggling to get too much running in, I took part in my first duathlon earlier today, tackling the tough course at Chilham. The recent rain made the off-road run legs (5km to start, and 2.5km to finish) particularly muddy, then heavy downpours on the 27km ride left standing water! I made all distances longer on the Garmin, but finished 68th of 104 in the inappropriately named ‘sprint’ race, in 1hr 51 mins 57 secs - 26.59, followed by 1.06.59 and 15.57. A thoroughly enjoyable experience, and more of the same soon enough, I hope!
