Social 5K Handicapped Runs

We are in the process of organising regular handicapped 5K runs for club members.

They will be held at Palm Bay on a Sunday morning once a month and will start when the club marathon and half are out of the way.

The idea is to introduce people to the joys of racing who maybe are not sure if it is for them or are too nervous to enter races.

For this reason the runs will be handicapped. The starts will be staggered with the slowest starting first and the quickest last.

This will mean we are all charging to the finish line together and anybody can win.

With the cafe being nearby it will very much be a social event during and after.

We have started to gather members recent best 5K times from various online sources.

We have not found times for all members so if you are interested in these events then please e-mail me your recent best 5K time so we can calculate the handicaps.
