East Kent Road Relays - Minnis Bay

As usual, our home leg of the East Kent Road Relays on Tuesday 26th May was well attended by the various clubs; we were out in good strength at this event as well. We fielded full teams in all the age categories for both the men’s and ladies’ teams which was great to see.

As usual the marshals out on the course did a great job of guiding and encouraging the runners as they went around the 2.3-mile course; a big thank you to Gaynor, Roger, Sharon, Helen, Andy and Mark for giving up your time to do this.

The weather was not quite Summer-like with a stiff breeze, making it feel a little chilly and the first mile into the wind was tough for all the runners, although having the wind behind us was rather welcome for the return part of the race along the sea front!

Looking through the results, everyone from the club had a great run against some very tough opposition and based on some of the photos taken near the finish line all the TRAC runners were giving it their all!

Our ladies really lead the way coming 1st in V35, V45 B and V55 and 3rd in the seniors. Well done ladies!!!

It was a great atmosphere with everyone supporting their team mates with loud cheers of encouragement whenever a light blue vest came towards the finish line. Well done everyone!

The next leg of the relays is on Tuesday 12th June at Ashford and we’d encourage anyone that wants to run to speak with Richard Purton or Claire Greenaway the team captains for men’s and ladies’ teams as it is great fun.
