David Winch represents England at British Masters Athletics Federation Marathon

David Winch Chester Marathon 2018

Thanet Roadrunner David Winch represented England at the British Masters Athletics Federation Marathon in Chester last weekend (Sunday 7th October).  Competing against other outstanding runners from Celtic Nations teams, David (who is a 70s) hammered out his first 10k in just 46 minutes, with a finish time of just 3hrs 35 minutes, putting him in first place in his age category.  To put his outstanding performance in perspective, David’s nearest competitor in his age category finished 25 minutes later!  Thanet Roadrunner AC chairman Jon Holl said “David is an outstanding athlete.  He takes his training, nutrition and race preparation very seriously and is an inspiration to club members from juniors to seniors”  Many runners dream of running a 10k in 46 minutes.  To do this in your seventies as part of a full marathon shows what an accomplished runner David is.
