Grand Prix Update

Both the TRAC men’s and ladies’ teams had a great showing in the Grand Prix in Sunday’s marathon, with each registering their highest return of the season. The men came second on the day, and are now just 11 points behind fourth-placed Orpington. The ladies look likely to have secured at least 7th place, and sit just 41 points adrift of the sixth-placed team, again Orpington.

In the individual tables, Steve King joined Andy Stevens in the top 20, and we have six runners in the top 100.  Steve and Adrian Waters are both in the top 20 of the v40, and we now have five scorers in the v50, John Cooper leading the way in 16th. Philip Cope has jumped ahead of Bill Wright behind Terry Brightwell in the v60.

For the ladies, Sarah Harmes and Debbie Hatt are in the top 25, and the club now has seven scoring runners. Debbie has moved ahead of Sarah in the v35, while Julia Hermitage has entered the chart. Pam Philpot picked up a great score to move up to 20th in the v45.

Well done everyone for a great team effort! Just the one race to go – the Maidstone Half Marathon on 14th October – so let’s have a big turn out to finish on a high. The will be putting on a free minibus for this race, so to make it a team day out, make sure you book your place with Steve Clarke as soon as possible. Once the bus is filled, you’ll have to make your own way!
