Emily and Tilly on the Telly

Two Thanet Roadrunners AC junior members ran in the royal blue of Kent on Saturday 10th March 2012 at the National Inter-Counties Cross Country fixture at Cofton Park, Birmingham.

Emily Bond and Tilly Ellis-Jarman did the club proud on a beautiful early-Spring afternoon, whilst back in Thanet, friends and family watched live from the comfort of their own homes on Sky Sports 3 and Sky Sports HD3.

First up was Emily, in the 3000m U13 Girls' race.  She finished in 50th place, recording a time of 12:06.  Tilly's U15 Girls' race was over 4000m and she clocked 18:02 in 154th place.  Both TRAC girls were the fifth Kent runner to finish (from eight representatives) in their respective races.

Incidentally, both races were won by Kent athletes - Sabrina Sinha (Cambridge Harriers) took the U13 Girls' title and Bobby Clay (Invicta East Kent) the U15 prize - both following up their recent victories at the English National Championships at Parliament Hill.
